Congratulations to KK @ Running Through Life! Hope you enjoy the chocolate as much as I did!

---CONTEST CLOSED---

Pheww! Mama needs a break!

With four, VERY active, 1.5 yr old quadruplets...I sometimes find myself in need of a relaxing getaway---or at least some serious "chocolate therapy". (I know you other moms know EXACTLY what I'm talking about!)

So when BlogHer approached me with a review involving CHOCOLATE TASTE TESTING--(yes folks, you read that correctly)--I was not about to pass on this delightful opportunity. What better reason to fudge on that New Year's resolution, right?! A big box of M&M's new Premium Chocolates arrived at my door and I thought I was in heaven.

I enlisted the help of several- MORE THAN WILLING -volunteers: My beautifully pregnant sister-in-law and older brother (both of whom are self-proclaimed "Chocoholics")---and we immediately began the arduous task of evaluating these stylish new candies. ;)
(Hey...its a tough job...but somebody's gotta do it, right?!)

Having never seen these deluxe candies, I was immediately smitten with the dazzling array of jewel-toned colors. (How incredibly fun?!) And as I bit into each morsel of chocolately goodness, I let my mind wander to various thoughts and places. The following is my personal experience with these fab new flavors.

Mocha

Warm, comfy, cozy...I'm curled up in a ball, listening to the soft crackling of the fireplace, drinking a soothing Vanilla Latte, with a good book-in-hand. I LOVE that the Mocha chocolates taste like chocolate covered Espresso beans, without having to break your teeth! The invigorating burst of coffee flavor will awaken your taste buds...I could only eat two or three at a time--which is GREAT! Usually all I need is a small nip of something sweet and I'm good to go. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

Raspberry Almond

Hip, stylish, confident...Its GIRL'S NIGHT OUT, ladies! Throw on your high heels and lets go hit the town! With a package of M&M's Premium Raspberry Almonds in my clutch, I am feeling fabulous and ready to have some fun! The dark chocolate and raspberry combination was easily my favorite (if not for the sparkling hot pink color alone!)--and throw an almond in the mix as well?--UH-MAY-ZING! I confess, I could NOT stop at just 2 or 3 of these almonds...I think I may have found my new favorite affordable luxury!

Chocolate Almond

Fun, spontaneous, exciting...Its movie/game night with Joe and the kids! We pop in our favorite DVDs, play games- laughing until it hurts, make some buttery popcorn, and snack on these smooth milk chocolate almonds throughout the night. I am pretty sure I could eat an entire box in one sitting. I have always been a sucker for any chocolate covered almond--so, its almost like the other guys didn't stand a chance! I also loved the brilliant blue color of the almond...a sure way to spice up any bland party!

Triple Chocolate

Hmmm...I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I think I was expecting the hard crunchy outer shell of an M&M and was surprised to find a silky smooth piece of chocolate. At first I dismissed the Triple Chocolate M&M as your average chocolate candy...but the more I ate, the more I couldn't restrain myself! The unique blending of 3 deluxe chocolates (dark, milk, and white) created a rich taste that I began to crave at all hours of the day. You'd better watch yourself, because these will sneak up on you, and before you know it---the entire box is gone!
Who me?...No! I'm just sayin'...it COULD happen...(wink)

Mint Chocolate

Cool, brisk, refreshing...I feel alive- soaking in the fresh, crisp, mountain air reviving my soul. I'm relaxing in a rustic cabin, listening to a babbling brook, savoring every second of the mint chocolate morsel that is dissolving in my mouth. Perfect solution for an after-dinner treat to cleanse the palette. These candies remind me of dark chocolate covered peppermint patties--However, I prefer the M&M's Premium Mint Chocolate goodies because they are made of WHITE chocolate infused with mint and covered with a soft, dark chocolate exterior---an amazing taste combination all wrapped up in perfect miniature spheres of delight.

To learn more about these tasty treats, you can visit the M&M website!

I had SO much fun, closing my eyes and dreaming of fun places. It is truly amazing where your mind can take you! So lets have some fun with it, shall we????
I adore my fellow blog readers and would LOVE to know what YOU enjoy doing, how do YOU pamper yourself? Where can your mind take YOU?

Great review! I love the pictures (and now I am craving chocolate!)

If I could do anything... sleep in until 9 and then spend the day with my hubby and 16 month old son... in Hawaii (if I'm going to dream, I'm going to dream big!)

I would love to be in a beach house for a day, coffee in the morning in the sand. A few hours to read my current book. A lovely lunch of my favorite chips and salsa and flautas delivered to my kitchen. More reading, popping chocolate all afternoon. Then my favorite pizza with my favorite guy in front of bonfire, and some good wine! AHHH

Bethany said...

I love that you color coordinated all of the m&ms! They look delicious!

If I had a day to do anything and everything, I would sleep in, then drive to the hospital to cuddle a few newborn babies before spending the rest of the afternoon and evening enjoying my family :)

Hmmm! One perfect day. I would wake up in Kenya and spend every minute of the the day with my boyfriend (he lives there). It would be great to see his face and spend time with him. Also, since it's the perfect day - while I was gone my house would be miraculously cleaning itself and my laundry washing and folding itself, while I was receiving triple pay at work. :) A girl can dream!

Thanks for the fun giveaway!

My perfect dream day? I'd have the money and time to take my kids on a Disney cruise and just pamper ourselves (all girls). Taking along M&M's, of course. :)

Now i have to get back to reality and work :(

you are soooo cute. I love how you matched each outfit in the pictures to the M&Ms!

I definitely would sleep, take a nice walk (when it's not 10 here in NY like it is now), and go out to eat to pamper myself! Hubby would have to be alongside me the whole day too! )

This is easy, I would be somewhere warm, and have someone else do the cooking. Hubby is welcome, kids are not LOL

My day would start by doing for others. I would love to go to the NICU where my babies were and be helpful in anyway possible, even if it's to lend an ear to a parent or rock a baby. Then I would love to have a great lunch ALONE and finish my day with an afternoon at the spa for a massage and mani/pedi:)

WOW....Chocolate giveway! What would I do if I had a day to myself.....
Well, I would head down to Myrtle Beach (3 hours away). Lay out my towel and soak in the sun (with lots of sunscreen of course) and listen to the waves, my ipod, and read a book. I would stay out until the sun goes down soaking up the quietness of the day without 5 children.
What I would NOT do....haha. I would not stay at home and home school my fourth grader, my third grader and my twin kindergarden children. I would also not do therapy on my adopted 2 year old that has bilaterial cochlear implants, and has had them for a year......so, we are working hard to get her to know her sounds.....and better yet SAY them. These are things I would not do since this is a normal day of my life :)

I would start the day at the spa - everything included - massage, hair, nails, skin then I would gather up all my grandbabies and spend the rest of the day with them - laughing, playing, eating, sleeping, running, jumping, all all the other things that little people do. Yep, that would be heavenly. I might even share the M&M's with them.

Today, considering the weather is yucky and cold outside, I would indulge by going somewhere warm, relaxing and tropical. That way my kids could play outside and not be inside climbing the walls :)

If I could spend one day doing anything and everything I wanted to do I would want to discover the cure for cancer. Not for the honor of doing so, but to be able to see the world wiped clean of this disease. My first and primary cure would be for DIPG which is found primarily in small children. However I wouldn't want to stop with just this form of cancer ... I would want to wipe all forms of cancer out of existence.

I know you are a nurse, but seriously, you ought to go into advertising. I live in NZ and I wanted to jump on the first plane to the US and buy up bundles of these chocs, your pictures for each product were delight and I can so see a tv ad with the same theme running soon to entice others into buying the product.
I am not sure if these will ever hit life down under, the joys of living here, unfortuately we have a very limited selection of products because there are just not the population numbers to keep lots of different products selling successfully. So I am envious when I see you guys testing products that look so yum and know we will never get them. I hope we do though because I want those mint ones, that cool crisp cabin and rugged country side. Well done you, good review.

If I could do ANYthing I wanted for one day... I would kidnap my husband from work, hop in the car and head out to our alma mater for a day of pretending we dont have a responsibility in the world (like college! haha) Cap off the night with a basketball game (or football depending on the season) and then camp by the lake. Ohhh can I go now?!

I saw these M&Ms at the store but was a little scared to try 'em. After your review, I'm headed to the store to pick up some of the hot pink ones... and maybe some green ones too!

Oh, Suz, it took me about 5 seconds to tell you I'd love my indulgence to be a plane to sweep my husband and me away to a beautiful resort. I would like to have several bags of M&Ms with to nibble on through out the day, too. My husband had open heart surgery in December, and although he's healing perfectly, we've been shut-in for over a month. It would be great to have a day away from home totally devoted to us as a couple! Great contest, and great blog!

A perfect day of indulgence wouldn't start until 8:30... That is sleeping in these days! A cafe Mocha... a day with just my hubby... Beachside massages... the sun... a fancy dinner with more courses than I could count and a hot tub indulgence before bed. Eating M&M's the whole time would be an exclamation mark! :) Mmm... Can I go now?

I want to go on a cruise, so my Day of Indulgence would happen on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean. I've seen these in the store, but haven't bought any yet. Now, I think I'm going to have to!! The only problem will be deciding which one to try first.

Anyway, I think a perfect indulgent day for me would be going to a spa for massage and mani/pedi, just for some mommy alone time. (I have 5 kids, so that NEVER happens!). Then, I would go have lunch with some of my best friends. I would spend the rest of the day shopping, and then dinner and a movie with my husband and kiddos. Love the color coordination! Day of indulgence? I would require that everyone sleep in until 9:00, go to the donut shop for breakfast, watch fun movies, play board games, eat lunch out and some place ridiculously girly, require that everyone take a good nap, have friends over to play in the afternoon, and eat at Simply Fondue for dinner...eating lots of chocolate along the way.

How cute were you color coordinating your outfit (complete with trendy accessories) with all the chocolates! M&M's should be proud. You deserve a year's supply for that one :)

These days, I would endulge myself by staying in my pj's all day and catching up on blogs. I've been entirely too busy lately.

I must admit that I've really increased my intake in chocolate too. I need it to get me through the day!

What a creative review!

If I could do anything, I would go with, my hubby, and a few of our couple friends to Maui for the day. In the morning lay on the beach and soak up the sun. Then spend the afternoon by going on a snorkeling trip and then laying out on a private boat. Then end the day with a romantic dinner on the beach under the moon light. That would be heaven on earth to me.

By the way, I love your blog!

Ok, so if i could be anywhere and do anything to indulge myself for one day??? that is so hard.
Right now, I know it won't sound very indulgent, but if i could have my one wish, it would be to be able to go to Colorado to be with my friend jess while her daughter tuesday goes through her next round of chemo, even if only for a day. Jess is so dear to me and I have hated being so far away from her while she is hurting so badly. It breaks my heart and I just wish i could be there to pray with her and hold her hand and give her a shoulder when she needs it.

With a 4 year old son with cancer and a 2 year old son as well, I get very little sleep. We're in and out of the hospital frequently and we are up caring for him more than 5 times per night. My perfect day would include the coziest bed in the darkest (yet plushest) hotel room in the DFW area. I'd sleep and sleep and sleep some more. All in attempts to get back just a smidge of the sleep lost since last April.

Great post. I always enjoy reading your blogs. Makes me smile, even when life gives me little to smile about. Thanks.

Okay, you must be the best reviewer of all time. Elaborate, eloquent descriptions of each candy, and you even dressed up to match. Incredible. M&M is probably counting its lucky stars for choosing you.

I don't want to be entered in the contest, but my dream indulgence day would involve some time in the great outdoors (when's the last time I couldn't hear a highway?), some time for sewing or gardening, and then to hang out with my husband. A nice, mellow day.

Hi Suz,
I've been enjoying reading your review blog. So here we go,
Let's see...
If I have one day to indulge my self...I want to be in Bali, Indonesia (that's where I'm originally from :). On the beach, drinking margharita on the rocks while I'm laying under the sun and have an awesome seafood dish for lunch and up to spa and full body massage in the afternoon, and finish up with a nice wonderful candle lit dinner on the beach with my lovely husband!

Mmmmmm....chocolate!!! I'll try now to focus on the task at hand...
A day of indulgence for me would be the following:
Waking up around 9 a.m. to the sound of my baby girls talking across the room to each other through the baby monitors while hubby and I share a few morning snuggles. Then, we get up and hubby makes us all a wonderful breakfast of cinnamon toast and pancakes. After this, we head outside and play for awhile and wait for the grandparents to arrive. The grandparents get to the house and takeover baby duty for a couple of hours so that hubby and I can go for a massage and pedicure. Then, we all meet back and go for a delicious Mexican dinner! The night ends with all of us being entertained by the girls latests and greatest & then hubby and I cozy up on the couch to watch a movie while the girls snooze away in bed. Pefect!!!

Are there only 24 hours in this day? LOL! Go big or go home: I'd start the day with a gourmet breakfast in bed: coffee, fresh fruit, bacon, toast and orange juice.

Then, a limo would pick up me, my mom and all my girlfriends for an afternoon of shopping at any stores we wanted then lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.

Another limo would take all the ladies home while I picked up my husband for an overnight stay at a spa. We'd have dinner, individual spa treatments then massages in our room, champagne and chocolates and we'd sleep in the next day before heading home.

Great review! I love the wardrobe changes!

In one day I would take my hubby on a date without the kiddos to a beach - Seychelles Islands in Africa maybe. Then...go get my kids, give them a million hugs and kisses and take them somewhere to play, just me, their dad and them - they'd get our undivided attention for the whole time - truly being present and actually playing with them with no interruptions or thoughts of this needs cleaning, that needs picking up, etc. Then...I'd love to do something worthwhile for others - especially kids that are hurting. Maybe visit kids in the hospital or surprise kiddos in the preschool where I work with several random acts of kindness!

You are the cutest mommy ever! So creative, and you seem so happy and fun! Thanks for the contest - all the m&m's look tasty!

If I could do anything and everything in one day…what would I do?
Okay, let’s see… I would have myself and my husband beamed (hey I’m dreaming right ;) to London where we’d play tourist for a couple hours and then we’d head to Scotland (seriously just think about all you could do if you only had to say, “Beam me up Scotty!”) where we’d take in the amazing view and have lunch. Next we’d venture over to Ireland and eat at the perfect Irish Pub before heading back to NC and Holden Beach (it’d still be the same day…time difference you know) where we’d lay on the beach without any little bodies to watch and then sleep that night to the sound of waves crashing just outside our window :) The best part of all is that I wouldn’t have to leave our four munchkins for very long and just think what a pampered and happy Mommy I’d be when they woke up the next morning!
Ahh…I love dreaming :)

My Day of Indulgence

I would sleep for most of the day. It's something I don't get to do nearly enough of. Then I would go eat lunch with some girlfriends (probably Chinese good), then come home and take a bath, read a book (in the bathtub).

In the evening I would invite friends over for a movie night, and I would go to bed early.

hahah, I spent so much time thinking about the perfect day - I think I want to try and have that day sometime in the near future!!!

My perfect day starts at an all-inclusive resort on the beaches of Hawaii. First I would hire a nanny for the day so that the kids' basic needs (like meals and diaper changes) could be tended to by someone else. I'd sleep in and then spend some time at the spa ... soak in the hot tub, get a massage, get a facial, get my nails done. Then I'd meet my husband and the nanny and kids on the beach for some swimming, sand castle building, and general fun. When the nanny put the kids down for a nap, I'd sneak off with my husband for a little "us" time, followed by an afternoon of scuba diving. Then, meet up with the kids again for dinner time (with the assistance of the nanny, of course, so I could eat my own food while it's still hot), followed by some playtime with the kids - probably more swimming, maybe in the resorts' luxurious pool this time - then the nanny takes the kids off for bathtime and bedtime. My husband and I enjoy drinks and dessert before taking a romantic stroll on the beach, followed by a little more "us" time.

What would I do...

I'd wake up to a warm bed full of our kids & dogs, without any knees or cold noses touching my back!

I'd throw clothes into a bag & head to the beach with the fam. I'd have a "runner" come along to fetch lunch, help with sunscreen, etc. I want to play all day, no work!

For dinner, I'd convince Hubby, for just one meal, to dine on the beach with me. And I'd magically make the sand go away so our food stays clean...

Then all snuggle up back in bed together at the end of the day for stories & warm toasties.

WHAT FUN!

My day would start with a handsome and charming chauffeur coming to my door very early in the morning. I'd direct him to several places where there are abandoned farmhouses in the area. I'd take all the photos I could, until I was too cold to do any more and the light was fading. In between there would be stops for coffee and a nice lunch somewhere in some little town. I'd have a book to read over lunch, or chat up the chauffeur if he could carry a conversation. At the end of the day, when it was too dark for photos I'd go to the big bookstore for a latte and a book shopping. Then the chauffeur drives me to a nice motel so I can have a hot shower with delicious smelling body soap and shampoo. I spend the night reading snuggled up in bed. The beach is there in the morning, so even though my day is over I can zip out for an early morning of beach combing and sandcastle building before I have to get back to the real world and regular scheduled life.

Oh wow! If I could have a day to do anything, I would have a romantic getaway with my husband to "Venice" (hey, I can dream)!
