Laundry is Now LOADS of FUN!

------CONTEST CLOSED!-------

Congratulations to EMILY with comment #285! You win a $200 Best Buy gift card!!!

Anonymous said...
I would love this machine, but I think I would like the oven that doubles as a fridge. I have no idea what brand it is, but it would be great if I could put something in the fridgoven in the morning when I go to work, and not worry about the food sitting out when it only needs to cook for an hour. What a time saver.
Also on the new washer/dryer I noticed you said it had a countdown to completion timer, that would be WONDERFUL!

This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Samsung Home Appliances

My heart just about jumped out of my chest when BlogHer asked me to chose which brand new SAMSUNG appliance I would like to review (and OWN)! Are you serious?!?!? I made Joe re-read the email over and over to make sure I was translating it correctly. YEP!

And YES--SAMSUNG! They dominate at everything else electric, so why not appliances?

We, the Steece family of 6, are now the proud owners of the Samsung, top-o-the-line, extra large capacity, front loading washer (model: #WF448AAP)
and dryer (model: #DV448AEP)--complete with pedestals!!!

Out with the old...(I'm gonna miss you, 'ole buddy 'ole pal...we've been through LOADS of baby spit up together)

...and in with the brand, spankin' new!
LOVE Mr. Delivery Man's face---"YES! They are quadruplets!" (notice the quad-crowd watching from above?)

Well...whadya think, guys? (The kids were in awe of the giant machines!)

Ben: "OOOOOOOOoooooo!!!"

But enough gawkin'...Mama has work to do! You see, I saved up on laundry so that I could run several different loads in the new W&D! (Yah right...who am I kiddin'...this is Mom & Dad's laundry on a GOOD week!)

Time to sit down and read through those user manuals (Yes! I am THAT particular and thoroughly read through each and every instruction booklet before setting up new gadgets, don't you?) The booklets were very easy and concise.

Samsung Washer Model WF448AAP (isn't she beautiful?!?!)

Click on the image below to view a detailed description of features.

Here are a few of my favorites:

1. EXTRA LARGE CAPACITY!- it can wash a king sized comforter or up to 28 bath towels in a single load! Which is awesome in a house full of 6--the laundry adds up VERRRY quickly! By washing fewer loads--I save time, money, water, and energy! (Ethan checking things out)

2. VRT (Vibration Reduction Technology)- performs smoothly at top spin speeds while minimizing noise and vibration. (Fantastic for sleeping kiddos!)

3. Stylish Design- heck ya! Funny how the most exquisite part of our house has now become our laundry room!

4. Diamond Drum- Tiny little holes that are 36% smaller than conventional drums which prevent fabrics from getting caught or damaged

5. LCD Display & Center Jog Dial- it is SO easy to use and I love how the screen lights up in the dark as well! Look at all of those different cycles! I also love the countdown to completion.

The child lock button will also come in handy with 4 curious kids sneaking in and out of rooms they shouldn't be in! Just press the "Soil Level" & "Signal" buttons simultaneously.

6. Silver Care Sanitation Cycle- 16 million trillion silver (widely known for its antimicrobial properties) ions are released during this particular cycle which does NOT use HOT water---This, in turn, uses 92% LESS energy while killing more than 99.9% of bacteria.

Things to take into consideration:

- Expensive: From what I have researched, this is the "top of the top of the line" when it comes to washing machines and averages around $1400. This particular washer is among the most highly rated front-loading washers in professional appliance testing (Consumer Reports & Good Housekeeping) and I believe it! It is amazing!

- Silver plates must be replaced after 1,000 Silvercare Cycles have been run. If you push the signal button and the silver care button simultaneously, the total number of silver cycles run will be displayed...so it is easy to keep track.

Samsung Dryer Model DV448AEP

Click on the image below to view a detailed description of features.

Here are a few of my favorites:

1. Fuzzy Logic Algorithm- What's this you ask? Sensors measure the degree of dampness and automatically set the drying time! Talk about super energy efficient! I love that it automatically shuts off when it detects that the clothes are perfectly dry to the particular level you choose (5 different drying levels: very dry to damp dry) and not a second longer---no more crisp clothes that have been blown to bits!

2. Mixed Load Bell- When laundry contains various types of cloth which vary in weight and drying time, a bell will alarm when the average dry level is 80% dried---perfect for taking out those polos that Joe doesn't want dried all the way and wrinkled! (I LOOOOVE this feature!)

3. Extra Large Capacity- Again, I am amazed at the amount of laundry I can fit into the washer & dryer! They are HUGE!

4. Refresh or Steam cycle- Say you want to wear something that has been hanging in your closet, smushed and wrinkled---simply throw it in the dryer under "refresh cycle" and it will spray a small amount of water while tumbling with heat. It reduces bad odor and wrinkles! Awesome.

5. Wrinkle Care- It is a button you can push with any cycle-- a small amount of water is sprayed into the drum to release wrinkles from items that have been left in the dryer too long and will continue for up to 90 minutes. I was completely amazed as I pulled load after load out of the dryer and the clothes were hardly wrinkled at all!

6. Rack Dry- Items such as stuffed toys, sweaters, foam rubber pillows, shoes, etc. can be dried on a drying rack so they won't be tossed around. Very COOL!

Things to take into consideration:

- Expensive: Average price is around $1300. (But you definitely get what you pay for and you end up using less energy so it all evens out, right?!)

Hi,the Samsung Washer & Dryer would bring the most ease in my household as my old dryer sounds like a plane taking off, I know that there is something wrong with it and on it's last leg and my washer is about 14 years old and I don't know how much life is left in that. The closest laundramat near me is a good 30 minutes away, so it would be a real time waster to have to go there. Thanks for a great giveaway!

WASHER and DRYER
My washer and dryer are from the 1970's and when I do a load of laundry, I have to go down and put it on the rinse cycle and then go down and put it on the spin cycle, and then spin it again, and then spin it again, when it comes to the dryer, it doesn't dry the clothes, so I can only put a couple of clothes in there at a time and put in on to dry like 5 times:( Yep, that is how bad I need the washer and dryer:)

I would love to have a new Samsung front-loading washer and/or dryer for several reasons: they would be more energy and water efficient, they're beautiful, and my old set has been through washing/drying (when we didn't hang them on the line) all my son's cloth diapers. O and did I say they would look great in our new house (we built it from the ground up). Thanks. Cindy

We don’t have a dryer (it died a couple of months back) and we HATE going to the laundry mat to dry them so the Samsung – 7.3 Cu. Ft. 7-Cycle Super Capacity Electric Dryer would come in REALLY handy- especially since some of my family members tend to get sick really easily when in public or even going out into the rain to get our clothes dried.

A fridge, definitely a new bigger fridge would be AWESOME!

I would love to have a new fridge with a bigger freezer. Our current fridge is so limited on freezer space it is hard to stock up on sale items or make several meals and freeze. WE could put our current fridge in the garage for even more space. How awesome would that be!

I would have to say a new washer and dryer. Those are the oldest and would use the most.

I would LOVE to have the washer and dryer combo! We don't have a washer and dryer at all right now, and after 4 years (and 2 more for sure in sight) of schlepping all of the laundry to the community laundry room, I am tired! I'd pay big bucks for a w/d in my house!

Lees said...

A frig would be AMAZING!!!! We go through 5 gallons of milk a week and with multiples it is NOT easy to shop with all of them....

Jessica said...

Washing machine would be best for me. We bought an LG front load washer and dryer, and I SWEAR they make my clothing smell just a little like mildew. We cannot figure out what the deal is!! We don't leave wet clothes in for an extended amount of time. Should have gone Samsung, FOR SURE!

knkelly said...

My choice- washer and dryer! Laundry is the hardest task around here since it's in the basement. It also doesn't help that our dryer caught on fire last weekend. Luckily my husband was there and all is okay. We are very thankful for our hand me, hand me, hand me down washer and dryer, but it's time to replace them!

I'm guessing I can't say ALL OF THEM?? We're doing a remodel and, seriously, we are replacing SO much. We're not doing it all at once, just gradual. Lets see... I would say fridge first - more room and a different configuration would be very desirable.

Oh wow what a fun gift!!!
The question - Fridge, Microwave, range, W&D???
Answer - Of course all of thos would be great. We bought a fixer uper 6 years ago, it has been an advenature for sure. But when it came time to purchase appliance we had to go the cheap route. You know how newlyweds budgets can be tight right (oh to go back to those simpler times). So two pregnancies and two preemies later we are wearing out some of the cheaper appliances we purchased. Of course we purchased those thinking we would be in a new house by the time we have kids. But you just gotta love life - I know I embrace it each day.
Okay enough rambling; frige yes I need a new fridge, OJ, milk, sweet tea, and juice fill up the bottom shelf = sorry honey I just went to the store I can not cook because we have no room for leftovers. Dishwasher the loud noises coming from the dishwasher as I type this is letting me know that she has enjoyed her time here in the Doyle household but it will be coming to an end soon. Washer and dryer three towels, a couple of wash clothes and a couple of hand towels is about all the washing machine can handel without jumping around the lanundry room. I only have two kiddos adn I have the laundry of about 6. I know this to be true being the oldest of 5 girls growing up.
So with that being said, I would choose the washer and dryer. I have a small family but live my life washing clothes because of the oh so smallcapacity of the ones we bought 6 years ago. Just dreaming of the hours that would be freed up to dust and mop instead of washing the 3 towels and a couple of handtowels about 700 times a week.
Happy Washing to the Steece Clan!!!

I have a very annoyingly great sense of smell and since we have moved to our house the well water has caused quite a stink in our laundry. More specifically with our towels...more specifically my favorite fluffy brown towels. I have tried just about everything to help with the smell, except buy a new washer and dryer. I think I would do 20 cartwheels if I got a new washer and dryer to help keep our full house from smelling mildewy!

I am in love with your new washer and dryer. I think a washer and dryer are the two things that would make my life easier. Ours are so old. I'm talking 1980's machines. They are dependable but there is such a small space for clothes that I seem to be doing load after load after load.

Thankfully, my stationery designs are flying off the shelves and I can hardly keep up. What I need more than anything in the world is a new Samsung Multi-pupose Color Laser Printer. This would solve all of my problems and enable me to meet demand and generate a profit adequate enough to make ends meet. My current printer cannot support the demand and the Samsung Multi-Purpose Color Laser Printer would be an answered prayer as well as a source of hope and vitality to provide income security during this difficult time in our economy. Thank you so much!

Those actually make doing laundry look like fun. They are huge and I love the color! Perfect for your family of 6. Our gas stove always freaks me out but I'd love a new dryer to match our new washer (unexpected expense last year {sigh}) so I'm torn....but I think I'd have to say stove. Thanks for the review!

Wow...the W/D combo look awesome! I think that I would love to have a new refrigerator with the water and ice in the door. I think that would help me get in all the water that I need each day :-).

I loved reading this review! If I had to choose, I would definitely say the Samsung washer and dryer. Now with our baby, we our constantly doing laundry. Our current W&D are old and we normally have to re-start the dryer about 3 times in order for everything to dry completely. We need something much more energy efficient.

I think you'll love the front loaders. The clothes just seem cleaner somehow.

ok that review was awesome, and hilarious. i need the samsung microwave!! ours has been out for about 2 months, and we've been using a junky old one in our laundry room that sits on TOP of the extra freezer, for which you have to climb a ladder to get to. ha! can you say, JUST CALL THE REPAIRMAN already!? I would much rather just get a new one!! ;)

for sure the washer and dryer that is on my wish list!

I would have to say a new dishwasher. We have a super cheap 5 year old dishwasher that mostly leaves our dishes dirty. So we have to wash them prior to putting them in the dishwasher - what a waste of time and water!

Thanks for your blogs!

First off, LOVE your blog!!! Secondly, the new washer and dryer are AMAZING!!

Now to the contest: definitely....the Samsung washer and dryer would make my life waaaaaaay easier. I currently have your normal run of the mill washer and dryer. They are SLLLLOOOOOOWWWWW! And, I'm sure they are just about the most inefficient w/d out there. We bought them with our house about 5 years ago...and at that time, they were probably a couple years old then.

For years, I've been saying - "Let's get a new W/D." But, of course...we always find other things to spend our money on.
"Which Samsung appliance would make your life easier (refrigerator, microwave, range, dishwasher, or W/D)?"

Definitely the washer & dryer - or if only one, then the dryer. I need more choices on settings - I get tired of pulling things out to hang the rest of the way dry...but a refrigerator would be so cool!

The washer and dryer look amazing, but probably wouldn't fit in my tiny laundry room. However, I would LOVE a new dishwasher. I can't decide between the fridge or the washer/dryer. My fridge is too small for us and my freezer is always at capacity. However, a new w/d would help speed up laundry so much since mine are old hand-me-downs from when my in-laws got their new set.

I am in desperate need of a new washer and dryer! With a family of 5, the laundry piles up so quickly! As we speak, it is sorted in the hallway ready to go. Only problem is, it takes way too long to wash and dry in my 10 year old machines. I need a super capacity washer/dryer to handle the loads more efficiently!
