Kiss Those Stains Good-bye!

This is a compensated review by BlogHer and OxiClean.

BlogHer: "Suz, would you like to review 2 brand new OxiClean products that have the ability to lift the toughest of stains (while making whites whiter and colors brighter)?"...

Suz: "Umm, do I live in a house with 4 rough and tumble 2.5 year olds???!"

"U Betcha!!!!" Just take a look at our family blog!

So, how do these products work?

Power Pak- No more messy liquids or powders! Just toss 1 power pak, along with your detergent, into the washing machine while filling. (For high efficiency machines, place 1 pak directly into the drum before adding laundry) Doesn't get any easier than that, folks! Paks will dissolve quickly upon contact with water.
To remove extra tough stains: Toss 1 power pak into a gallon of the warmest water allowable for the fabric, allow mix to dissolve, add clothes and soak for 1-6 hours.

Gel Stick- Place Gel Stick directly onto the stain, pressing down to dispense the concentrated gel. Rub into fabric and allow to stand 5-10 minutes before washing in the warmest water allowed for the fabric. For BEST results, treat stains immediately. (or, if you're like me...you can wait about a week and still get good results from those nasty, set-in-stains!)

There is no doubt in my mind that these OxiClean products would have prevented MANY different articles of stained clothing from ending up in the garbage over the past several years. The Max Force Power Paks and Max Force Gel Stick worked wonders for our laundry. I'll let the pictures do the talkin'...

Meet Savannah. My darling daughter who has a sweet tooth the size of Texas. Sav recently indulged in all sorts of sugary treats while celebrating at a birthday party.

I was cringing inside- thinking of all the stains that were forming on her brand new lollipop shirt!...wondering if I would be able to work them out. And like many of the stained clothing in our household- the shirt sat in the dirty clothes hamper for almost a full week! (I know, I know- some call it lazy, I call it extremely busy!) On day 6, I treated the stains using the Max Force Gel Stick and threw it in the washing machine (along with a full load & a Max Force Power Pak). Whallah!

Not only have the stains disappeared, but the color is absolutely amazing! These OxiClean Max Force Power Paks unleash active oxygen (hence the "Oxi-" in the namebrand) which BOOSTS laundry detergent--resulting in colors that POP!

How about gray sweats with marinara stains? No problemo!

As you can see, we get LOTS of food stains around here...

And in case you were wondering, a Mexican food restaurant after church (with our nicest Sunday attire) is just askin' for stains.

...but the OxiClean Max Force products are equipped with 4 different types of stain fighters and are safe for all colors and temperatures--even those "Sunday chinos"!

I thought for sure that we would be throwing these 2 white shirts away. You see, Mama was "busy" again, a week went by, and I completely forgot to treat the stains (are you seeing a pattern here?). But for the sake of this review, I thought I would try it anyway---the true test, right?!

Shirt #1:

Shirt #2:

HOLY COW! I'm a believer!

Things I ♥ about the OxiClean Max Force products:

- Work as advertised: lift our stains (even stains that have been sitting for a week!) and brighten our clothes
- Smell GREAT! (and who doesn't love good smellin' clothes?!)
- Save us time & money by not having to re-run the washing machine over and over- trying to scrub out stains
- Safe for any type of clothing in any temperature
- Convenient and easy to use
- I'm seriously going to keep these products on hand at ALL times!

Things to consider:
- I have not had the opportunity to test these products on tougher stains (grass, blood, soil, grease, etc)
- Gel Stick is somewhat messy, but easily cleanable
- Retail Price: Stick~ $4.99; Paks~$7.99 (but worth every penny in my opinion)

WANT TO WIN A $100 VISA GIFT CARD?! ---

Leave a comment and tell me: "What was the WORST stain you have ever acquired?"

My answer: "the ridiculous nosebleeds while I was pregnant with quads!...blood everywhere! EEK!" (could have definitely used some OxiClean power!)

Maybe TMI!!! when my son was two weeks old I HAD to get out of the house. Hubbie, baby, and I packed up and drove 45 mins to Savannah, GA to go shopping. I wore white capris. I figured out when we got to the mall, I had forgotten to wear my diaper sized hospital pad. Yah, I had to have hubbie go buy me some new pants and I used my son's newborn size diaper as a pad!!!

I washed handmade burp cloth that had blue fabric on the edges - so cute! However, the blue fabric bled on EVERYTHING! Not so cute after that. :(

Hmm my worst stain... has to be Lansinoh breast cream from nursing. I still use it occasionally for the kiddos chapped lips or cheeks and it stains horribly. i am going to have to try these products on that and see if it works.

My worst stain was a full glass of red wine that someone spilled on my brand new outfit I bought for a friend's Christmas party. Why couldn't he be drinking white white?

Worst stain would have to be red wine!! The hardest to get out (or just impossible) if I don't use my Tide To Go pen right away!! BTW, I'm super impressed with the color lifting!!

Worse stains are when my hubby leaves a pen in his pocket and I dont catch it before. Little pen marks on the whole load and in the dryer are awful!!!

Some of my worst are those ground in grass/dirt stains my son loves to find while outside playing.

We LOVE oxi clean. Will have to grab some of the paks, very cool idea and less fuss than the powder/scoop.

The worst stain I've had to deal with would be paint on my husband's pants. For the life of me I couldn't seem to get that stuff off.

Without too many details, let's say it involved my husband and a manure pit!!! Nuff said. (And where WAS this stuff when I had 2 kids in 3 seasons worth of athletic uniforms?)

I've conquered a lot of stains but one I'm still fighting is blood stain. The day we moved into our new home Lil Man fell hard onto the edge of our sofa and needless to say ended up with a nosebleed. I managed to get the stains off his clothes but I'm still battling the stain on the carpet. I've tried everything but Oxi Clean. I'll give that a try this weekend. Our only other option is to replace the carpet!

Roxanne said...

Cough drops left in my husband's pants pocket...this happens at least once a week! You'd think I'd remember to check!

I was dragged through the grass by my neighbor's dog (after a squirrel). The stain came out thanks to OxyClean. I use it at least once a week on my husband's baseball pants and my kid's clothes. They apparently like to roll around in the dirt on the playground.

My worst stain has been when I've been getting out HN's Sunday smocked dresses from when she was a baby. Who knew that spit-up stain that appeared to be gone, but once stored in the heat in a Rubbermaid container that it would be back again!! I threw out several of her "fancy clothes"!

My worst stain happened while on a family trip. We were going to a car show and broke down on the side of the road. I got out to help my husband fix the problem and was soon covered in motor oil. On top of that it started raining so it really seemed to push that oil into my clothes even more. I ended up having to throw those clothes away. It was a new outfit too, bought for the trip.

Having three kids means that laundry challenges are just a "normal" part of life. I am obsessed with trying to preserve the clothes we have spent money purchasing for them. I have some go to methods that allow me to relax most of the time and let them enjoy being kids.

The one stain that vexed me was a dry erase marker on an EASTER dress the morning of EASTER SUNDAY. We had some wonderful friends join us for the weekend and on that morning we had everyone dressed in their best. My friends then proceded to give my littlest one a story telling toy which included dry erase markers...what a nightmare ! I thought it was more difficult than sharpies to remove. My husband managed to figure out the chemistry required to remove it since he grew up with parents who ran a laundromat. My Grace went to Easter with another dress on and no matching bow, needless to say. Not the biggest crime, but totally happy I had a backup dress.

The worst stains are my husband's. He manages to get grease on every shirt he owns and then waits too long to clean them. He 'assumes' the dry cleaner can get everything out and is wrong most times. Worst stain was on my floor. I had received a weather barameter for Christmas and had it on my entertainment center. It was filled with the vivid red liquid that would rise with inclement weather. The glass holding it was not strong. Or at least did not with stand the tail knocking from my cat onto the floor. It shattered and there was red fluid in a two foot spill plane. It looked like some one was murdered. Nothing even put a dent in it. Suffice to say I lost my deposit on that apartment.

The worst stain at our house...diaper blow outs. My daughters onsies seem to forever be ruined by blow outs. (and if you are a mom, you will understand what I mean).

The worst stains I've had to battle are grass stains. Those never seem to come out completely. Haven't tried oxi-clean on them yet though!

Blue ink from a gel pen that my husband left in his pants. The whole wash was ruined. But newborn poop would rank second. I wish I had had these products. Will be purchasing very soon!! Thanks for this review.

Grass/turf from football have been so menacing and Oxy Clean is the ONLY thing to tackle! I have not seen the gel pens so I am excited to go on the journey to find those!

The worst stain... khakis in Oklahoma on a rainy day. Red dirt = red mud. OMG. There was absolutely no hope for that one!!!

For me it would have to be baby poop on my daughter's coming home outfit! She's our first and I really want to save the outfit... I'm gonna try Oxi-Clean to get the stain off!

I'm posting on my blog.

My worst stain was candle wax....my 7 year old knocked over a candle on a candle warmer and not only did it get all over the wall, hardwood floor, but my shoes and clothes. I had to throw the clothes a way and move the couch to cover the mess ;)

The worst stain I've experienced is when I left a cup of fruit punch (oops!) on the coffee table and my one-year-old tried to drink it. It was ALL OVER THE PLACE! I couldn't get the red stains out so I had to throw away the outfit. :( Glad to see that the OxyClean works!!!

After Katrina we went to help out my parents and we had to cut-up a large branch hanging on the gate - another large branch fell on us - knocking my husband down - and he bled all over - that was the worst stain I had to get out.

The worst stain ever was melted green crayon that my son snuck into the dryer while 'helping me'. Every piece of clothing was destroyed - that melted color never came out.

My worst stains are from Crawfish- my husband loves them since his parents are crawfish farners, but the seasoning on them when you boil them is horrible on clothes. It leaves horrible orangish stains. I would love to try these new products!

The worst stain I had to deal with was from a pen that got left in the wash. There were lots of little stains and it took a while to clean.

Aside from the grass and dirt stains on baseball suits (mainly from sliding which really grinds it in), it would have to be an ink pen left in the pocket of a pair of jeans and washed with 4 other pair!!

I have had lots of stains, but the only one that wouldn't come out eventually was tea on a white shirt.

Chinese food grease! I was going to a wedding with my husband and had a brand new dress on (that I could not wait to wear)... we were relaxing just before we were going to head out and I sat on the ottoman, as opposed to the couch. Little did I know that my husband had placed a bag of greasy chinese food there earlier. Needless to say, when I stood up, I had a HUGE grease stain on my rear end and had to change. I was so sad! Thanks so much for the chance to win!
